3-Roll vs. 5-Roll
Both are built for thick tubesheets. The 5-roll is ideally suited to thin wall tubes of titanium, stainless steel, Incoloy, and other exotic metals, giving a more concentric and even expansion than a conventional 3-roll expander.

Choose Your Reach
Roll depth is how far into the tubesheet the tube is expanded. Every reach starts at the roller length (min "A") and extends to the max "B" below. Longer lengths, to 60" and beyond, are available on request.

What makes the 1200 Series different from the 800 Series?
Reach. The 1200 Series comes in four reach lengths, rolling up to 12" deep with 1-1/2" rollers and 12-3/4" with 2-1/4" rollers, with custom lengths to 60" and longer. That makes it the choice for thick tubesheets. See the 800 Series for standard depths.
When should I use the 5-roll instead of the 3-roll?
For thin wall tubes of titanium, stainless steel, Incoloy, and other exotic metals. Five rolls give a more concentric and even expansion than a conventional 3-roll expander.
What tube sizes do they fit?
The 3-roll fits 1/2" 14 BWG to 1-1/2" 20 BWG (0.334" to 1.43" ID). The 5-roll fits 3/4" 14 BWG to 1-1/2" 20 BWG (0.584" to 1.43" ID).
Which reach do I need?
Pick the reach whose max roll depth covers your tubesheet thickness: STD to 6", A to 8", B to 10", or C to 12" with 1-1/2" rollers. Add 3/4" to each with 2-1/4" rollers.
What mandrel drive do they use?
3-roll models 1197 to 1256 use a 3/8" mandrel drive and 1257 to 1300 use a 1/2" square drive. 5-roll models 1223-5 to 1258-5 use a 3/8" square drive and 1263-5 to 1300-5 use a 1/2" square drive.
