Snap It® Engineered Tube Plugs

Weld-free tube plugs for heat exchangers, boilers, and condensers, installed in under 60 seconds and rated up to 7,000 PSID. No welding. No hot work permits. No downtime you didn't plan for.

USA Industries Snap It Sr Engineered Tube Plug

The Problem With Traditional Plugs

Stop Welding. Start Snapping.

Tapered and welded tube plugs mean hot work permits, fire watches, inspection delays, and real risk to your tube sheet. Snap It® plugs install hydraulically, no welding, no sparks, no waiting around. Just a controlled, repeatable seal that holds.

USA Industries Snap It Engineered Tube Plugs vs Standard Metal Tapered Tube Plugs Tubesheet Contact Illustration

Snap It®'s multi-point contact distributes force evenly across the tube wall, unlike tapered plugs, which concentrate stress at a single edge and risk tube sheet damage.

Engineered Plugs

Snap It® Jr. vs. Snap It® Sr.

Both plugs share the same weld-free, hydraulic installation, the right choice comes down to pressure and application.

Why Contractors Switch

Built To Perform Under Pressure

Increase Safety

No welding means no risk of sparking hazardous fumes. Every plug is helium-leak tested to 1 × 10⁻⁹ cc/sec and installed with an average safety factor exceeding 18.

Save Time & Labor

Installs in under 60 seconds. Cut labor costs by up to 80% and skip the welding, permitting, and NDE requirements altogether.

Protect Your Tube Sheet

Controlled hydraulic installation applies even, precise force, protecting tube sheets and ligaments from the damage hammer-driven and welded plugs cause.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Snap It® Jr. and Snap It® Sr.?

Snap It® Jr. is rated to 1,000 PSID with three points of contact and covers a wider range of tube I.D.s, it's suitable for most applications and can plug near-end or far-end (through-the-tube). Snap It® Sr. is rated to 7,000 PSID with five points of contact for a much stronger seal, but covers a narrower size range and is used for near-end, high-pressure applications only.

What pressure can Snap It® plugs hold?

Snap It® Jr. is rated up to 1,000 PSID with blowout pressures tested beyond 18,000 PSID. Snap It® Sr. is rated up to 7,000 PSID with blowout pressures tested beyond 28,000 PSID.

Do I need special tools to install them?

Snap It® plugs require zero proprietary equipment. If you already have hydraulic rams, pull rod assemblies, or extenders, they'll work with our plugs. If not, we offer complete installation kits, including the new cordless SureSnap Pro™, for rent or purchase.

How long does installation take?

Once you've installed a few, expect under 60 seconds per plug to prep and install, no welding, no permits, and up to 80% lower labor costs than alternative methods.

What materials are Snap It® plugs available in?

We regularly manufacture Snap It® plugs in 20+ materials, including 316/304 Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Brass, Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, Titanium, Zirconium, 70/30 and 90/10 CuNi, and more, all milled in the USA.

Can Snap It® plugs be used for through-the-tube (far-end) plugging?

Yes, for Snap It® Jr. Because Snap It® Sr. is engineered for higher pressure-holding capability, it expands less than .020″ and is used for near-end applications only.

Do you sell direct, or only through a distributor?

We sell direct to end-users as well as contractors and suppliers. Every Snap It® plug is designed, engineered, manufactured, tested, and packaged at our South Houston, Texas facility and shipped worldwide, which means competitive pricing and shorter lead times than buying through a distributor.
