USA Industries' Two-Piece Tube Plugs offer more sealing compared to one-piece tapered tube plugs, and are designed to minimize damage to the tube sheet when sealing off leaky boiler, condenser and Fin-FanĀ® / heat exchanger tubes. The two-piece plugs work by utilizing a ring that's parallel to the tube on the outside, but tapered on the inside, giving even expansion to the ring and a longer contact point to seal, minimizing points of failure.
EASY AND QUICK INSTALLATION!
Place the ring inside your boiler, condenser or fin-fan / heat exchanger, and drive the tapered pin into the ring (custom-cut to your tube's I.D.), causing the ring to expand and give you a 360Ā° seal for the length of the ring.Ā Note: You MUST provide us with the exact I.D. of your tube so we can turn down the outer piece of the two-piece tube plugs for an exact fit.
It is good practice to install rings and pins that are the same as or a compatible material to the tube to be plugged. The tube plugs are available in an array of materials to suit your needs: brass, carbon steel, 316 stainless steel, 416 stainless steel, and aluminum (more than 20 different metals available upon request).
USA Industries is a leader in offering tube plug solutions to users in the oil & gas, chemical and power industries. We have more than 500,000 tube plugs in stock and ready to ship, and our production capabilities exceed 5,000 plugs per day, more than 20 materials and any coatings you may require.
A SPECIAL WORD OF CAUTION:
USA Industries highly recommends you use ourĀ One Rev Internal Tube CutterĀ to puncture the tube before installing any plug to ensure that pressure cannot build up in the tube and cause the plugs to loosen or blow out.
Frequently Asked Questions
We turn down the rings to fit your tube's inside diameter so you get a better fit.
By creating a more uniform seal for the entire length of the ring, our two-piece tube plugs won't damage the tube sheet on a fin fan / heat exchanger, boiler or condenser.
We will always recommend that you puncture all leaking tubes inside before installing a tube plug to prevent pressure buildup, which could create dangerous plug projectiles.
Unfortunately, because we custom make these tube plugs to your exact I.D., we don't accept returns on these tube plugs.
Our lathes produce plugs dimensions that are +/- .005 inches.
